Final thoughts about VP debate

Closing thoughts: This was an energetic debate - more interesting than the first Obama-McCain debate. Both Sarah Palin and Joe Biden spoke in terms that connect with everyday Americans. Both used stories to connect with viewers.

Palin did what she needed to do. She held her own and didn't embarrass herself too much, although I believe she did mess up on the name of the NATO commander in Afghanistan. She called him McClellan when I believe his name is McKiernan.

Biden did what he needed to do. He came across as well-informed as well as gracious. He didn't brow-beat or embarrass Palin.

I doubt this will change many minds. But overall, I would give this one to Biden in terms of content. In terms of being personal and personable, I call it a tie.

What did you think?

Comment: "The word NUCULAR does not exist!" It is the way Presidents Eisenhower, Carter, and Bush 1&2 pronounced it. Eisenhower was a general, Carter the engineer responsible for the reactor on a submarine, and Bush the 1st served in the Navy. I think calling them nucular military thing.

Comment: I watched with great intrest, only to find Gov. Palin avoiding answers and generally shirking the responsibility of explaining her positions. I was equally disappointed in her lack of command of the english language. Someone please tell her that the word is NUCLEAR! The word NUCULAR does not exist! And while debating foreign policy and attempting to show how up to speed one is, they should not refer to a Civil war era general and the TALIBANI?!

Comment: I think that the reading public understands that the PD editorial department is in the tank for Obama and that the PD editors, have demonstrated an irrational contempt and malice for Sarah Palin that will in the future define the key symptoms of a psychological disorder that will be called Mommy-Madness. When men raised, married and thus controlled and shaped by feminist ideology discover that there was another way, they go nuts.
